JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
When you drive a Jeep your interior gets exposed to all sorts of nasty things. Water, sun, dirt and whatever else we do in the name of fun. It's important to protect it whenever you can if you don't want it looking trashed after a year or so. One easy way to do that...covers! There are a lot of seat cover options out there for your Jeep. Some great and most...not so great, I chose Wet Okole this round. Their reputation and longevity in the industry places them at the top of the list for covers.
I've been covering up my seats for ever and when it came time for something new I wanted to try something a little different. Well kind of different. I remember back in the early-mid 2000's I would love throwing my board in the Jeep and hoping on to my Hawaiian print Wet Okole's and hitting the beach every day before going into my MMA gym for work. Those days were full of fun and adventure. I also have a very distinct memory of loving the smell of the neoprene every time I got in my Jeep. That said...I just picked myself up a new set of Wet Okole covers and the wonderful smell of that neoprene is once again filling my Jeep!
Wet Okole manufactures custom neoprene backed seat covers made in Costa Mesa California. Yup...100% Made in the USA! The neoprene fits tightly over your seats and are waterproof for a long lasting durability. The material pretty neutral when it comes to getting to hot in the summer or cold in the winter which makes sitting on the extra padded cover very comfortable all the time.
To insure getting a long life out of the covers Wet Okole offers a UV protectant to substantially reduce fading. With a lot of exposure to the sun, your covers can become damaged by the sun’s harmful rays. Fortunately, Wet Okole Hawaii Seat Cover UV Protectant reduces damage and fading from the sun, replaces lost plasticizers, protects for easy cleaning with wet suit shampoo and improves appearance by enhancing the color. They have tested their UV Protectant extensively on the seat covers and found that using the UV Protectant gives you a lot longer life for the covers. (You can purchase the UV protectant directly from Wet Okole).
If you're like me...your new covers are going to get dirty! Luckily washing your covers isn't a problem, in fact...the more you wash the better your covers get, if you wash them properly that is. Use wet suit shampoo. It's perfect for neoprene seat covers! Wet suit shampoo was specifically designed for cleaning and conditioning neoprene prCleaning with wet suit shampoo removes organic residue, micro-organisms and salt deposits that contribute to the deterioration of neoprene. Conditioning with wet suit shampoo helps prevent excessive drying, premature aging and oxidation of neoprene while continuing to keep the colors bright, and f it works for your wet suit...it will definitely work with these covers. Here are some cleaning instructions directly from Wet Okole...
"Wash the seat covers right on the vehicle. No hassles of taking the seat covers on or off. Combine water with your wet suit shampoo. Use a lint-free cloth and wash your seat covers thoroughly. Rinse your seat covers with fresh water and towel dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH OR DETERGENTS CONTAINING BLEACH! DO NOT USE A BRUSH or MACHINE WASH! HAND WASH and AIR DRY ONLY! Wet suit shampoo can be purchased directly from us or any other Wet Okole Hawaii seat cover dealer."
Wet Okole has thousands of options for all vehicles, but for my Jeep I went with a nice matching two tone with seat heaters and a small pocket. I couldn't be more happy with the way they look and feel. Because of all of the options Wet Okole offers, the pricing is broad, but for a set up like mine you're looking at just about 500 bucks AND worth every penny of it! The comfort, the protection, the customization and of course the Made in the USA label makes Wet Okole seat covers a WONDERFUL Christmas gift for that Jeeper in your life, AND DON'T FORGET THE ARM REST COVER! It takes away the gross, sweaty, burning arm you get from that summer sun.
