JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
"Overlanding is self-reliant overland travel to remote destinations where the journey is the principal goal."
That's what Wikipedia says anyway. To take it one step deeper still, it's what we learn along the journey that becomes the goal. For some it's what they learn while exploring the world. Seeing new places, learning new cultures, finding things that are different and interesting. For others, it's about learning more about themselves. It's about being able to be self reliant, being able to exist not just in this world, but with this world. Kind of a partnership with nature I suppose.
For me, it's about all of that and more. I love Overlanding because that's when I learn the most about myself, more importantly...where my place in this world is. How I can be better, how I can impact the people around me to be better. There's just something so real and honest about being in nature, especially when I'm alone. I often say there's no clearer way to see the Creator than through the Creation.
Overlanding for me is not only a fun, adventurous way to spend time hanging out with friends exploring what's out there...it's also a place to find peace and balance. It's spiritual and grounding. It's the ultimate connector to remind me what's important in life.
If you've never tried it, the next time you get the privilege of overlanding find a moment to spent in silence. Use all of your senses to take in nature and see what you learn. It will be different for everyone for sure, but I guarantee you this...you will leave that time better than you went into it.
