JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
If you live for soaking in nature, even if it's just for a moment like I do, then you understand how excited I am to add a Tepui rooftop tent to my gear. This thing is outstanding, and the perfect way to complete a fun build like the CoolGuyStuff.tv trailer.
Now, when I set out to do this piece I had every intention of setting up some cameras, shooting some great video of the simplicity of set up and breakdown, and give you a complete video tour of the interior of the tent. Unfortunately Mother Nature had a different plan. When I arrived on the top of the Cleghorn Trail, the winds were blowing about 35-40 miles per hour and were knocking over the cameras, and just about everything else I needed not to blow away. :-l
Sure, I could of found a nice tucked away place protected from the wind to shoot what I planned for, but that seemed to be a waste of some heavy wind and a tent that brands the name Ruggedized!
Set up was a snap. I can't say enough how easy the set up and breakdown times are. That alone makes the price tag worth every penny! Once up, I was pleasantly surprised at how unaffected the tent was by the wind. I mean this wind was blowing pretty hard, and the trailer definitely felt it, but the structure of the tent was solid. There was no sagging, no bubbling up, even the rainfly that I left installed stayed in place, and wasn't an issue at all.
Once inside the tent you'll find yourself pleasantly suprised at the comfort and roominess. The material and stitching are high end, and you can tell the attention to detail Tepui makers put into the tent when they designed it. The corner pockets are perfect for flashlights and cell phones, and the mattress is comfortable, even for big guys like myself.
