JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
There's a famous exploration saying that I love. Now, I'm definitely paraphrasing it here so bare with me...
"In order to use a map, one has to be made".
It's weird how we are expected to grow less curious and adventurous as we age. We are suppose to fall in line with some societal norm, right? Graduate school, get a job, bury yourself in responsility and debt, or something like that.
I'm in my mid 40's now and I'm still amazed at how many people think just because I love things like adventure, exploration and spending my life outside of the box I'm somehow a flake. Even crazier, that I don't take anything serious.
The truth is, somehow we have convinced ourselves that as we age we need to follow that plan of adulthood that has been taught to us from a very young age. We are in a sense domesticated to "fit in" and be "normal".
I here to say...look at that stats folks, normal is drug abuse and alcoholism. Normal is drowning in debt and losing ourselves in our careers. Normality sucks!
I vote, let's break the cycle of normality! Embrace that person you are on the inside and start being them on the outside too. Simplify life and become the perfectly imperfect person you were meant to be.
