JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
This past Saturday I have the fortune of jumping in with Lost Jeep SoCal on there Adopt-A-Trail day up on one of the San Bernardino Mountain trails.
The day starts with a quick meeting in the parking lot of the Cedar Spring Dam. Just to cover the day's events, who's doing what, and a quick hello.
From there it's straight to the trail for some work...and fun of course. Lost Jeeps SoCal is a local Jeep club here in Southern California, I have written some cool stuff about these folks, they are a great group of people.
Their Jeeps range from stock to hardcore, and the best thing about these guys...having fun and making new friends is not a problem at all. If you're interested in jumping in with the club, here's their Facebook Page: Lost Jeeps SoCal FB Page
In case you're not sure what Adopt-A-Trail is, it's pretty simple. Jeep (and other clubs) simply take on the maintenance of a trail or two in their local mountains. That maintenance is pretty basic, anyone can participate. You'll cut back some of the trees or bushes from the trail, keep the drains open, break down illegal fire pits, remove graffiti, and make simple repairs as needed. (I'm sure I'm missing stuff in there, but you get the point).
I love this program. It's such a great way for friends and families to get together and have some fun hanging out. All while focusing their energy and efforts on giving back. (Lost Jeeps SoCal is pretty darn good it too!)
Remember folks...it's not what we can take from this world, it's what we can give to it!
