JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
I always think the aftermarket industry began after a lone Jeeper went to the dealership to replace a simple plastic clip, or an 8 inch tiny hose and discovered that a 2 cent piece of plastic or rubber just got marked up 100,000% because that is the only way to get the part they needed. The frustrated Jeeper must of thought to himself...this SUCKS!! And an industry is born! Thank goodness too!
I recently had a full Line-X job done on my Jeep. Inside and out! I love it! Not the point though...the point is...I needed to replace a clip that cost over $6 Bucks each! Luckily I only needed 12 of them, and 24 of the over $5 bucks each clip!! I know right??!!!
Anyway, I was so annoyed. I couldn't do it! It was about the principal of it all at this point! So, I ran up to AutoZone and picked up the SAME EXACT CLIP! A 10 pack of them for $3 dollars and some change. Of course I was happy. Also, more annoyed than ever that the manufacture would take advantage of brand loyalty like that.
Now...don't get me wrong...I am always willing to pay a bit more for quality American Made products, but that's not what we are talking here.
That's when it hit me...ALWAYS DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING!!! Of course we all know that in theory, but it has never been more real than with those stupid clips!
There are some many cool things out there, for a fraction of the price of the comparable item straight from the manufacturer.
So, inventors...keep inventing! Manufacturers...keep manufacturing! Aftermarket stores...keep aftermarket storing! Wait...what??
Anyway, you get the point!
