JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
We all know by now that our beloved Jeep brand was part of a huge merger a few years back that probably saved the American icon as it is now part of the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Group). So far...more than so good! Sure things are never perfection out of the box, but I've been seeing some really cool things coming from the Jeep factory like we've never seen before. Things have never seemed better for Jeep. I know I appreciate the value my Jeep hold these days, that's forsure.
Now, I love my Jeep, and can't see myself really owning something for myself other than that, but I do appreciate a sexy automobile forsure, and FCA is cranking out some of the best. It's not just about producing a ride every likes though. Us Jeepers know a thing or two about what it means to be a part of a lifestyle. What it means to help and look out for each other. We call it the Jeep Life. FCA, is not only repping the Jeep Life, through the Jeep division of the company, they have an over all philosophy that us Jeep folk love to see. The value of people!
Here's a recent piece I came across from a newsletter out of the FCA corporation. It's from a guy named Sergio Marchionne. Now, I honestly don't know who he his, but his "out of the norm" thinking I can appreciate. Sure the piece may of been meant for insider eyes, but as I read it I thought...exactly! More than ever folks need their jobs, our country needs their jobs, even globally, the world needs their jobs! I can't say it enough, when we value each other, innovation occurs. When innovation and creativity meet... that "new paradigm" Sergio is speaking of happens. Anyway, enough of me....here's the piece.
"The bigger and more complex challenge we face regards the auto industry as a whole. Our industry needs to fundamentally change the existing paradigm and rethink its business model. It needs to take advantage of this exceptional opportunity to begin a new cycle and create value. The path we as a Group believe in – and which we have already proven with the Fiat-Chrysler integration – is called “consolidation”. During the quarterly analyst call, we presented an in-depth analysis showing that the potential synergies of industry consolidation, without plant closures or job cuts, are enormous and the benefits are just too significant to ignore.
The choice the industry faces is to continue down the path of mediocrity and value destruction or to be courageous and undertake the radical changes necessary to create sustainable value. It’s a question of collective responsibility and a challenge that our industry as a whole needs to address. Only history will tell whether we have the required determination and leadership.
At FCA, we have already committed to a course that offers us enormous opportunities for growth and development and we are better equipped than ever to tackle the challenges of an intensely competitive global market. Our targets are not for the timid. But neither would we be satisfied to set mediocrity as our benchmark."
Keep up the good work everyone! Let's take the Jeep Life to the world!
