JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
Dan Fresh from OC Motorsports has his past. No, no, no, you weirdos...I'm not talking an arrest record, I mean as an Off-Road super hero. Well, good ol' Dan might seem a little more Peter Parker than he does Spider-Man these days, but..the guy still crazy skills and watching Dan in action is a whole lot of fun!
I have a friend, and the guy is funny, talented and actually lives life with some integrity,...which happens to be my favorite few things about a person. Oh, one more thing...he's a guy that loves getting out there to explore nature as much as I do, which is why we have become such great friends I suppose. Anyway, when it comes to exploration and more specifically, being an Overlander, you're pretty much assured to end up driving one of two types of vehicles. A Jeep or a Toyota, and he picked a pretty sweet Toyota 4Runner.
Wondering if Toyota owners are as fanatical as Jeep owners, I asked my friend to write a small piece for the site that expresses the reasons why he loves his Toyota and here's what he had to say...
While setting out to build my first overland vehicle I searched high and low until I fell in love with the 2016 Toyota 4runner. Yes, I know you are thinking but what about a JEEP! It was on the top of my list of vehicles but at the end of the day I just felt more at home inside the 4runner. Both vehicles are extremely capable and are great decisions for your adventure vehicle but I also like to stand out from the crowd a bit. My first experience with Toyota’s was my brother’s Tundra which drove like a dream and my mother’s Land Cruiser which is now 15 years old and has over 200,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I knew I could trust the 4runner as my ultimate overland vehicle. To date the car is a year old with 30,000 miles and is heavily used off road and is also my daily driver. Follow along as I take you on my journey of turning this stock 4runner into an overland beast.
Well...there you have it. Sure I may be a Jeep fan, but how can anyone tell another person that they should or shouldn't drive anyway? I actually appreciate his love for his 4Runner, and honestly...that thing is capable! I guess it's looking like more Toyota to come folks!
It seems like if you want to own a Jeep, these days it's going to cost you...a lot! Well, unless you want to take a beautiful slice of Jeep history and make it your own.
Follow VentureTheWild.com and their partner JC Whitney on a quest to not only "Save the Squares", but also show everybody who will listen that living the Jeep life doesn't always have to break the bank!
Yup, we will take this very used Jeep YJ and bring it back to life. With a little sweat equity and some good old fashion Jeep parts shopping we all can find the happiness that Jeep ownership can give you. From the perfect summer cruiser to the next great adventure, this Jeep YJ will put a smile on anyone's face.
Watching the Easter Jeep Safari from the sidelines is a bummer. I've always wanted and planned on going, but for whatever reason...it just doesn't happen.
I think my favorite part of WATCHING the show has to be when the Jeep concepts roll out. I'm not sure Jeep could beat last year's concepts, but...once again it's roll out time! Watch how it all comes together.
