JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
I remember a time when halfdoors on your jeep was the cheaper option. Now if you want them you have to pay a premium. That crazy price tag makes the aftermarket half door (trail door) industry very popular to say the least. You can find everything you could possibly want out there, but there are only a few that combine style, durability and cost efficiency to,bring us a great option for half doors.
So, when we are talking trail doors I like to break it down into two categories...open or mesh doors and solid doors. An “open door” is just the frame. I’m not really a fan of those at all. A “mesh door” is simply a door with mesh sides. These look cool, but you still get a lot of air blowing through them as well as the obvious lack of protection from dirt, mud, water or anything else that could blow in the Jeep. Lastly, my favorite type,of trail door...the “hard door” which is a door with a solid side panel.
The best east trail doors I’ve seen in a long time, if not ever come from DV8 OffRoad. The industrial style combined with the REALLY nice latches give a little separation from what’s out there at this price point. The doors are very substantial and give you a sense of protection while on. You can remove the panels to open and lighten the door up, but I’ll never do that. I love the solid door best, remember?
Easy to install, the DV8 Rock Doors are the perfect trail door for the person that wants to run them for months at a time or the one who just likes to pop the doors on for an afternoon on the trail.
-Limit straps to prevent door from swinging too far open
-Fully plated design (more protection from brush and debris)
-Rattle preventing stopper integrated in to the design
-High quality latches
-Simple and easy to install
-Plates can be removed to paint

What seems like years ago, and maybe it was, I came across the PERFECT mod. I remember thinking that I have owned a Jeep since the early 90s and finally someone has brilliantly developed a mirror replacement system that takes all the thinking out of the process without losing factory quality.
Yup I'm talking about Quadratec Mirror Movers. Maaaaann they have been awesome, but...that was a long time ago and it's now time for a change. Something fresh and new. Something stylish and built tough. I need to find something to replace my Mirror Movers without going backwards in form, fit and functionality and how in the world will I find such a spectacular replacement you ask?? Luckily for me this one is EASY!!!
A NEW SET OF QUADRATEC MIRROR MOVERS!!
The crew at Quadratec have figured out how to take the already great Mirror Movers and make them even better! The design is better, the mirror is better and guess what...this next gen set of Mirror Movers even work with power mirrors!
Honestly folks, in an industry full of products for just about everything, when you find a product that is so far above the pack you have toshare it with your friends right? Well this is definitely the product for me. I absolutely LOVE my next gen Quadratec Mirror Movers.

I know what you're thinking! Why the heck didn't that guy clean his Jeep before he installed that beautiful, new Made in the USA Tuffy Cubby Cover?? Look people...it's not my fault! I was like a kid on Christmas morning when the thing showed up at my house...I HAD TO INSTALL IT!! I mean really...I'm just a man!
Tuffy Security Products have been the go to for lock boxes, and secure storage solutions for a long, long time. I have had several Tuffy products through the years and I can think of a single time that I thought...hmm, this one isn't that great. This Cubby Cover is no different! So, let's talk this one through for a moment.
First...Jeep has designed a greatly place cubby to store some gear behind the rear seat of your Jeep. Personally, I like to keep my airlines, breaker bar, some tools to change the tire if needed and there's even room for my daily carry bag when I need to leave it in the Jeep for a bit. With that well placed, cool little cubby is a problem...there's no way to secure any of that stuff, so you might as well of not even teased us with it to begin with!
Wait, wait, wait...you can't start with "first" if there's no "second" right? SECOND...Tuffy clearly saw the need and potential then came up with the perfect answer to fix the problem.
This heavy duty LOCKING cubby cover replaces the factory cover. Constructed from 16 gauge and 1/8” thick welded steel, secure storage in the hidden floor compartment is finally possible. The Pry-Guard locking system from Tuffy, along with 1/8” thick steel components and a welded continuous steel hinge provides a sturdier and more durable cubby compartment and deck surface for items placed on top.
• Pry-Guard locking system with 1/8" steel components and a 10-tumbler, double bitted security lock containing built in weather seals
• 1/8" thick welded steel mounting plate with all fastening hardware included
• Continuous welded steel hinge
• 1/8" steel mounting brackets with grade 8 fastening hardware
• Jack is also secured when cover is locked
• Durable powder coat finish
Honestly, the Tuffy JK Lockable Cubby Cover is such a useable, practical upgrade to add functionality and security to anything you can fit in that little cubby space. I have been looking for this solution for quite some time now and could not be happier with the result, AND...it's less than $170 bucks!!

Anyone that has ever had a conversation about tops with me could tell you that I am a huge Bestop TrekTop NX fan! It has been my go to top since it's release, so of course it's the only place I looked when it came time for a top on my 2 door JK.
The TrekTop NX offers all the protection from the elements I need and strips down to nothing more than a REALLY nice safari top...it's a perfect design, well I thought so until I saw this!

Ok, now that you are looking sexy as sexy gets cruising down the trail with the wind beautifully knotting up you hair with wind and dirt and the sun is gently kissing your face creating the perfect redneck sunglass farmer tan let's get down to something a bit more than a lift, bumpers and some tires. Yup...axles. I find myself getting into more difficult stuff out there and realize that it's time to beef up my axles BEFORE I break one on the trail. Not to mention the benefit of lockers.
This is in NO WAY cheap, so it's important to do it right the first time...that's why I'll turn this over to someone way smarter than me at this stuff now...TeraFlex!
Well, I have never gone wrong with TeraFlex before so it looks like my decision is easy. Make sure you educate yourself and get what's right for you on this though, and don't just do what you're told. This is a big one for most of us, so try and avoid any regrets here. Before you buy anything however, make sure you check out the line up from TeraFlex and if you have any questions (like I do), just reach out. They are great over there and love their customers.
This may sound odd, but the first thing I did when I bought my JKU was get rid of the factory top and picked up a TrekTop NX from Bestop. Ever since that day...I was all in with Bestop. I mean it's not exactly rocket science here...a top is one outhouse things where we all know what they look like, what they do and that Bestop is the industry leader for this kind of thing. So of course when we picked up this American Classic 1995 Jeep YJ it was a no brainer where I'm going to go for my replacement top.
The Bestop Supertop gives this very cool retro look off that tells the world that you really are that cool as you drive down the highway. It looks amazing, the quality is the best in the industry, it's easy to install and of course like everything else made by Bestop...will last for many years to come.

For the first time ever I feel a difference in shocks. Feel the difference in performance and I feel the changes claimed made when I adjust the settings. Falcon Shocks is easily the best shock I've ran, and man I'm glad I made the switch.

The Jeep industry is full of product and a lot of them are pretty darn nice, but none do it quite like TeraFlex now do they? TeraFlex has been my favorite brand for years now and their balance of great product, great people and the "lifestyle" culture they have create around the brand keep them at the top. (I also love the fact that they have managed to stay family owned in a culture of small business being bought up left and right by some of the bigger corporations out there).
Well the Epic Front Bumper by TeraFlex is a great example of just how good they are over there. Every angle offers a sexy look to it and the build quality is second to none.
TeraFlex keeps their bumper family a short list. Enter the line up with the Explorer (great bumper too) and wrap-up the line with the perfectly designed and built Epic. Here are some details...
-1.75" mandrel bent hoop with laser cut gussets
-Hoop adds extra brush guard protection
-Recessed mounting allows more grill space for taller winches and increased radiator air flow
-Winch mount integrated into bumper design
-Fits all major winch models w/ center bolt pattern including larger Warn Powerplant
-Separate Epic Bumper (4653100) available for offset drum winches like Warn Powerplant
-Steel w/ textured black powder coat finish

-JKs 2012+ need vacuum pump relocation bracket (4403100)
-100% bolt-on install

The crew that make up TeraFlex love what they do, they love the lifestyle that comes with it and they love their customers. It's pretty simple actually, If you're a Jeeper...TeraFlex has something for you.
