JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Ok, I'm not exactly a new Jeeper myself, but I have witnessed with my own eyes what it does to people. It's actually kind of funny. The excitement, the lifestyle change, oh...and don't forget the large amount of cash that gets redirected from anywhere else it can be and thrown into Jeep parts! It's an amazing course of events! Unless it's us, we all know the new Jeeper and it goes a little something like this...
I'm a huge fan of TeraFlex! I always say, my Jeep is probably more TeraFlex than Chrysler at this point (and trust me...there's more to come).
TeraFlex is a great way to introduce that new Jeeper in your life to the lifestyle. Their products are among the elite, thier committment to their customers have always been a top priority and from what I've seen...the entire company is full of Jeep loving, adventurists walking the talk of the Jeep Life.
This company has always been good to me, they've always been good to the people I've introduced them to and what better way to help your new Jeeper experience life as it should be...driving a Jeep!
Christmas represents a few things to us all. The birth of baby Jesus for one, but from there it's about fun, friends, family, and spending time connecting with the ones we love. It also represents a time of year we look past ourselves and try and do something for others. Some we know and some we don't, but what's important is that we give. We do something with no expectation of anything in return. The heart of Christmas is love, sacrifice and selflessness and this year I hope we all have the privilege to practice all three.
This is past weekend I was honored to be a part of a group of Jeepers that wanted to do something nice for a bunch of kids they don't even know and the 2016 Jeep Cruise Christmas Toy Drive went off without a hitch. A night of fun with old and new friends driving through some of the most Christmas filled neighborhoods in Southern California. Bigger than that though...I had the pleasure of watching everyone give unwrapped Toy after unwrapped Toy just so a bunch of kids get to wake up on Christmas morning with their very own presents under the tree.
This year take take some time to be something special to the people around you. Take the time to give with nothing expected in return and take the time to stop and remember what we are really celebrating on this very special day.
Thanks American Trail Products, DV8 Off-Road and everyone who participated in such a great cause and event!
Christmas is right around the corner now, that means last minute shopping is kicking in! I have some good news for all of you procrastinating shoppers though. I have put together a Top 5 list of Jeeper gifts for under $100 bucks. Doesn't get easier than this.
#5 - Bestop under the seat lockboxes for the (JKU) driver in your life!
A lockbox is almost a necessity at this point. Lock your wallet, knife, glasses and valuables up to assure that they will be there when you get back to your Jeep, especially when rolling topless. They are a bit more useful than that though. Theses boxes make the perfect way to travel securely AND legally with your handgun. Bestop offers both drivers and passengers side boxes (I have both) for a cool price point of $59.99 each.
#4 - Quadratec grab handle CB mount
We all know that running a CB in current Jeep Wrangler models is a bit tight, almost impossible even. Well, most of us run the Cobra compact (or something like that) and have found there's only one great way to mount the unit. That's with the grab handle CB mount, and Quadratec has the best price point for one. The Quadratec CBM 75WX11 CB Mounting Bracket mounts your CB to the passenger side grab handle. Out of the way, easy to reach and only $29.99! Can't go wrong with this one.
#3 - Bartact paracord grab handles
Let's face it...us Jeepers have been know to drive a little..."erratic" from time to time. That means EVERY Jeep needs a set of grab handles. Bartact's Made in the USA grab handles are just what the doctor ordered. For $49.99 a pair you can match your Jeeps color with the best paracord grab handle in the industry.
#2 - Bestop floor liners
Bestop is back on the list with there molded floor liners. Spills, mud, or regular dirty shoe traffic will be handled like a pro by these nice looking, comfortable feeling (for those barefooted drivers) floor liners. Front, rear and cargo area liners are all available and sold separately starting at $79.95.
# - 1 CRKT TRENCHER
Every rock crawler, overlander, off-roader, explorer, camper and adventure seeker should have a good trench shovel in their gear bag. The CRKT TRENCHER is most certainly one of the best. It's design is comfortable effective. For $99.99 this one is a no brained folks!

There are so many light companies out there, picking which way to go is like drawing straws. You just don't know what you'll get. There are high end American Made lights out there that are pretty great, but what about the guy who can't afford or don't want to drop $500 bucks for a set of lights, not to mention if you rarely get out on the trail at night to even get to use them. What's out there for that group?
AUXBEAM offers supper affordable lights that everyone can afford. The company offers many options in pod or bar style LED's that are easy to install and look good. In this case, a set of 3 inch, 20watt, Phillips square LED fog light. The pods look great out of the box. The pod seems to be sealed nicely to keep, out the elements. 20watts gives you plenty of brightness for most of us and for just over $55 bucks for the set, the pods will make a great holiday gift for any off-roader.

I love this time of year! Changing seasons, freezing temperatures and believe it or not, the dying off of the old. Bare trees and empty landscapes can mean only one thing...winter is coming and with winter comes a refreshing of nature. The animals are resting and the plants are preparing to burst into life come spring.
In the mean time I get to enjoy the solitude of a snow capped mountain or a beautiful frozen desert sunrise while I contemplate my own fresh start.
As another year wraps, we to have the chance to close the door on the past and open one to the future. We to get to kill off whatever it is that kept us from succeeding this past year. Whatever it was within us that kept us from experiencing more, from loving more. We can begin again though, this time doing what it takes to make ourselves better versions of our last year's self. We get to use the earths nature cycle to also remind us that we need to continually prune ourselves from what is unhealthy mentally, physically and spiritually from our own beings so we, just like nature around us can start again clean, fresh and new.
This is holiday season spend some time examining yourself. If you're not heading where you want to be, let the roadblocks die off with winter so you can start again ready for the world.
When you drive a Jeep your interior gets exposed to all sorts of nasty things. Water, sun, dirt and whatever else we do in the name of fun. It's important to protect it whenever you can if you don't want it looking trashed after a year or so. One easy way to do that...covers! There are a lot of seat cover options out there for your Jeep. Some great and most...not so great, I chose Wet Okole this round. Their reputation and longevity in the industry places them at the top of the list for covers.
I've been covering up my seats for ever and when it came time for something new I wanted to try something a little different. Well kind of different. I remember back in the early-mid 2000's I would love throwing my board in the Jeep and hoping on to my Hawaiian print Wet Okole's and hitting the beach every day before going into my MMA gym for work. Those days were full of fun and adventure. I also have a very distinct memory of loving the smell of the neoprene every time I got in my Jeep. That said...I just picked myself up a new set of Wet Okole covers and the wonderful smell of that neoprene is once again filling my Jeep!
Wet Okole manufactures custom neoprene backed seat covers made in Costa Mesa California. Yup...100% Made in the USA! The neoprene fits tightly over your seats and are waterproof for a long lasting durability. The material pretty neutral when it comes to getting to hot in the summer or cold in the winter which makes sitting on the extra padded cover very comfortable all the time.
To insure getting a long life out of the covers Wet Okole offers a UV protectant to substantially reduce fading. With a lot of exposure to the sun, your covers can become damaged by the sun’s harmful rays. Fortunately, Wet Okole Hawaii Seat Cover UV Protectant reduces damage and fading from the sun, replaces lost plasticizers, protects for easy cleaning with wet suit shampoo and improves appearance by enhancing the color. They have tested their UV Protectant extensively on the seat covers and found that using the UV Protectant gives you a lot longer life for the covers. (You can purchase the UV protectant directly from Wet Okole).
If you're like me...your new covers are going to get dirty! Luckily washing your covers isn't a problem, in fact...the more you wash the better your covers get, if you wash them properly that is. Use wet suit shampoo. It's perfect for neoprene seat covers! Wet suit shampoo was specifically designed for cleaning and conditioning neoprene prCleaning with wet suit shampoo removes organic residue, micro-organisms and salt deposits that contribute to the deterioration of neoprene. Conditioning with wet suit shampoo helps prevent excessive drying, premature aging and oxidation of neoprene while continuing to keep the colors bright, and f it works for your wet suit...it will definitely work with these covers. Here are some cleaning instructions directly from Wet Okole...
"Wash the seat covers right on the vehicle. No hassles of taking the seat covers on or off. Combine water with your wet suit shampoo. Use a lint-free cloth and wash your seat covers thoroughly. Rinse your seat covers with fresh water and towel dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH OR DETERGENTS CONTAINING BLEACH! DO NOT USE A BRUSH or MACHINE WASH! HAND WASH and AIR DRY ONLY! Wet suit shampoo can be purchased directly from us or any other Wet Okole Hawaii seat cover dealer."
Wet Okole has thousands of options for all vehicles, but for my Jeep I went with a nice matching two tone with seat heaters and a small pocket. I couldn't be more happy with the way they look and feel. Because of all of the options Wet Okole offers, the pricing is broad, but for a set up like mine you're looking at just about 500 bucks AND worth every penny of it! The comfort, the protection, the customization and of course the Made in the USA label makes Wet Okole seat covers a WONDERFUL Christmas gift for that Jeeper in your life, AND DON'T FORGET THE ARM REST COVER! It takes away the gross, sweaty, burning arm you get from that summer sun.

The TeraFlex crew really thought this one out folks. It's a beautiful design. Plus, for a fraction of the price of a safari rack ($499) you finally have an option that will hold the weight of a rooftop tent safely. I love it, it's a great choice for any Jeeper.
