JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Ok, we've all heard of the news of the Jeep truck Coming by now right? At first, I couldn't help but to think how cool it would be. Until I thought about the gutless motor my 2011 JKU has in it. Then I thought...who is going to want a truck they can't really use? So, what will the new Jeep truck have to have to get folks out shopping??
-Let's start with the easy one...the motor! I'm thinking this may come just in time to get the new diesel in it! Plenty of power and gas mileage, problem solved.
-Next, give us a bit longer wheel base for towing. Assuming the the new motor won't lack low and high end power...let us use it!
-From there...I vote give it everything it needs to tear up the trail, at least as good as the Wrangler. Doesn't have to be straight Rubicon, just the "trail rated" minimum for starters.
That should take care of functionality, right?
Now for the style...we all love the Commander, so let's go with that look.
I love fishing! I really love kayak fishing even more. When I came across the Ultraskiff 360 I couldn't help but to think...WOW!! This thing is cool! Now, the verdict is still out on it. I would LOVE to try get one for the site and really show you guys this thing, but in the mean time...would you use the Ultrskiff 360 as a new way to fish?
This new TeraFlex video is a perfect example of why we love the brand so much! Focused on having fun and making great products the brand has won us over forever! If you haven't tried any of their products out yet...you're missing out! Go to www.teraflex.com and check out their full line.

Ok, we need your help! The Trektop Pro looks pretty sweet, but...is it worth it?
Every year on 9/11 we take time to remember the horrific act that literally changed our world forever. When those planes flew into the towers the image burned in to our minds and hearts like nothing our generation has experienced before. So many families were destroyed that day. Kids lost their parents, parents lost their kids, brothers, sisters, friends, people we loved all gone in a few short seconds.
Every year on 9/11 we take time to ask why? We wonder what conviction could be so strong and desperate that mass murder is justified for the sake of making a simple statement. What kind of evil must be in a person's heart to thrive on the idea of terror and destruction, and what it does to mankind. Most of us will never understand that kind of fanaticism, and maybe it's good that we don't, but today...this 9/11 let's not only remember. Let's refuse to allow the path our Country is heading down and the state of our world is currently in as being the new norm.
Only we have the power to change things. We start with a change within ourselves. Commit to living a life of honor and loyalty. Commit to doing what is right rather than what is easy. We will then find ourselves united as a people. Races, economic status, religions, all finding unity with each other for the greater good of saving our country that so many have died for in the past. That type of unity will demand change. There's no "more us against them", there's only "us" and what we need to do to keep our Country great and safe for "us" and the ones to follow.
This 9/11 remember, but remember to find motivation to take a stand.
I love the brand ENO. It sounds weird, but the culture of their brand makes me happier somehow. Anyway, that said...I was surfing around their website the other day and came across the coolest bag! I had to try one
The ENO Kanga is a small sized, single strap, over the should messenger type bag that is the perfect size for your ENO gear. You know what else it's perfect for?? A lot of things! For example, I love it as my daily carry. Wallet, keys, sunglasses, iPhone, iPad, knife, gum, even deodorant! Fits exactly what I need, with plenty of room left. It looks really cool too, which makes it the perfect daily carry bag.
Tonight I used it for a gym bag. Small towel, wallet, keys, shorts and 2 shirts, socks, and deodorant! It's perfect for a gym bag too! (Yes I like to carry deodorant...better than being smelly, right??)
The Kanga is made from 200D ripstop nylon, great zippers, pockets inside and out, and the design makes it really comfortable to carry. For just under $45 bucks, you can not go wrong with the Kanga. So, if you need a bag for your ENO gear, want a gym or daypack bag, or even looking to upgrade that daily carry give the Kanga a try...I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!
Southern California definitely isn't short on beautiful coastlines. From border to border you can take in the gorgeous sunsets and peaceful ocean breezes. One of the best spots...Palos Verdes! Specifically, Ocean Trails by Trump National Golf Course. (What a beautiful golf course, every player would love the opportunity play a round or two against this backdrop).
Ok, on to the trails. I caution you hardcore hikers out there, this is more of a walk down a dirt pathway than the hiking you're used to, but none the less...it's still worth every step! There is nothing more humbling than the realization of just how enormous this world really is. Just standing on one of the many cliffs overlooking the endless sea is a great way to gain perspective on how some of the smallest problems seem to overwhelm us at times.
Miles of easy to handle trails will take you from the parking lot (where parking is free by the way) to the tide pools, and back up to the highest cliffs where you can see miles and miles in any direction. So, grab your kids, or maybe some friends if you need a break from those little brats and head out to the Ocean Trails for an afternoon of fun and beauty. Oh, come on...I'm kidding. I'm sure those darling little angles are perfect.
Serveral times in the past few years I've tried to find solar gear that actually works! After all, the idea of using solar technology while off the grid seems like a no brainer right? Unfortunately, everything I've tried up to this point...just didn't work very well. Until now! Goal Zero offers a line of solar gear that has me pretty excited.
The Sherpa 50 solar kit gives you a Nomad 13 solar panel, the Sherpa 50 power pack, and a Sherpa inverter (110). It does cost you about $410 bucks, but it's worth every cent of it if you spend any amount of time outdoors.
The Nomad 13 solar panel is ideal for strapping it to a backpack, or the rollbar of your topless Jeep and hitting the trail. Charging your smartphones, GPS units, cameras, handheld radios and iPads are no longer a problem.
The Sherpa 50 power pack is the perfect companion for the Nomad 13. In fact, between giving your gear a full charge before you hit the road, having the Sherpa 50 all charged up, and just letting the Nomad 13 soak up all the sun it wants will be all the juice most trips will ever need. You can wall or car charge the Sherpa as well as plug it in to the Nomad. There is an inverter (110) that plugs right into the side of the Sherpa that makes things really easy to charge most devices.
All in all, the Sherpa 50 solar kit was a hit! I loved it! I spent about 3 days of testing the gear, in several situations. The kit came through with flying colors. It was a rough traveling, dirty, trip and we managed to keep all the gear, including my Mac Air juiced up! Perfect portable office for the outdoor blogger. You can get all the details of the Sherpa line, as well as the many other products they offer on their website at: www.goalzero.com
Great product, but the bigger idea here is... Never lose your sense of adventure! It's a great big world out there, get out and see it!!
