JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"Not all those who wander are lost"
A lot of us love knives! We carry one everywhere and can't seem to get enough of them in our collection. The utility factor is endless, the self defense aspect is a must and if you are someone that loves gear like I do...consider it an accessory that accents your already way to cool looking outfit.
The knife universe starts with something everyone can afford and climbs from there. I like to break them down to a few basic categories. Disposables, The Work Horse, and Collectibles. My favorite of the three with out a doubt is the work horse! There is something special about a knife that is made well enough to beat up day in and day out and stand the test of time. One of the best in the business at creating a "work horse"...Spyderco. Their Made in the USA line is one of my favorites. Shapes, styles, colors, the choice is yours with the Made in the USA line, and I choose the Military Model G10. A cornerstone in Spyderco's Save and Serve line up.
The Military Model 100% meets the requirements of a high-performance. This light-weight folder is designed for hard use. The blade is made from CPM S30V steel. It's known for holding an edge and resisting rust. The 'Millie' has a modified clip-point blade laser cut with a 14 mm Spyderco Round Hole for a quick deployment.
The handle look is a Digital Camouflaged G-10 with the lock's liner nested directly into the scale. Spacers between the scales create a gap that makes things very easy to keep clean and not gunk up. The metal clip looks great and works even greater. Check out these tech specs...

All and all this is probably my new favorite from the Spyderco family. It looks awesome, it's built to last and of course it is Made in the USA!

Generally speaking...I'm a guy that could probably spend most of my life out there on my own exploring the world. There IS something pretty awesome about hitting the trails with a bunch of good people for some fun though, especially if they are new Jeep owners! The look on their faces when they realize just how much that Jeep can do is priceless. I'm pretty sure they are sold on their new lifestyle the moment they decided to buy that Jeep, but just in case there's a hint of hesitation...a good day laughing and talking Jeep, half lost on a trail of course, seals the deal forever.
Getting off road is so much more than you might think. It's a reset, a change in perspective. It's coming to an understanding that the world is a big place, and we probably aren't as big as we might of thought we were...and that's a good thing! Getting out of the city and in to nature will reward you with a refreshing sense of happiness that you just can't many places. There will be fun and freedom. You will face challenges and a sense of accomplishment that will rest deep inside of you forever. I can't express enough what a life of adventure and exploration has done for me.
Anyway, there is a good chance most folks could use a new way of thinking, a new way of living. A way that is better than being stressed out at work all week or living for the weekend because day in and day out you can't even stop to enjoy a beautiful sunset. You know, there's really only one thing stopping you from grabbing some friends and family and hitting the trails, yup...that's you.
Locally in Southern California the OC Motorsports crew happen to be big believers in that..."living that Jeep Life'" approach to life. In fact they are such believers, they commit their entire lives to it. They Jeep, they build Jeeps and they influence Jeep owners everywhere to follow their lead by hitting the trail.
So, if you're a new Jeeper and want somewhere to plug in...join us! If you're one of the many that happen to be way to far away, find a club, find an event or local run. Find a group to head out with., find something! The friends and fun made on the trail is unmatched!
We often run so fast and search so hard for answers. Answers to all of life's problems. Answers that have been asked generation after generation since time began. The truth is...if we take the time to be still and just listen, we will realize the answers have been with us the entire time.
We all have to find our place in this world. We all need to do what we need to do to be able to lay our heads down at night and sleep peacefully without regret. My place is chasing sunsets, hunting for treasure and living life exploring. It's the perfect adventure.
What can I say really?? I'm at peace in nature, I find balance in this perfect creation away from the imperfect world we've created. My reality may not be the norm, but I'm not the norm...and neither are you! Find yourself and let the next greatest adventure begin right now!
Getting stuck in the middle of an unexpected thunderstorm is not fun. Being stuck in some kinda of civil emergency...even less fun!
There's no reason to get jammed up though, Midland USA's E+Ready line is an outstanding, affordable tool that every one should own. Up to date weather forecasts, emergency announcements and the am/fm bands with a built in solar panel to keep that battery charged are only a few of the awesome features though. The E+ Ready line comes with a flash light (with a becon mode), USB port to keep your cell charged call out low frequency whistle.
The solar feature of the E+Ready line is pretty sweet. Keeps the battery nice and full at all times, BUT an added piece of mind comes knowing if all else fails...you can also hand crank a charge, easy - peasey. You never know when things can get ugly out there. It's better to stay prepared with the E+Ready line from Midland.

A while back I discovered the MXT line from Midland and haven't looked back since! This is absolutely the best general form of communication for any adventure. CB's make for an awful experience and HAMs are just a bit much for an average guy like me. So, when the opportunity came up to help spread the word...I had to jump on it. I haven't met a person yet that has used and hasn't loved the Midland MXT line and the way the work with everyday handhelds. Now, someone will have the chance to join the family for free! Here are the details...

I know for me, I'm a huge believer that nature offers healing for the soul. The beauty of creation is something to be taken in. Sunsets, ridgelines, mountain tops, the delicate balance of all forms of life and the way they exist, all awesome and I can't think of a better way to be apart,of something bigger than ourselves alone.
It's easy to take it all for granted though. It's easy to,get caught up in the day in and day out monotony of "real life". It doesn't have to be that way though and whatever you have going on...take of look at these folks and how they seem to get it. The tenology is pretty darn sweet too. :-)
It seems like if you want to own a Jeep, these days it's going to cost you...a lot! Well, unless you want to take a beautiful slice of Jeep history and make it your own.
Follow VentureTheWild.com and their partner JC Whitney on a quest to not only "Save the Squares", but also show everybody who will listen that living the Jeep life doesn't always have to break the bank!
Yup, we will take this very used YJ and bring it back to life. With a little sweat equity and some good old fashion Jeep parts shopping we all can find the happiness that Jeep ownership can give you. From the perfect summer cruiser to the next great adventure, this YJ will put a smile on anyone's face.
Driving at night doesn't have to make you squint your eyes up like your a 95 year old lady trying to read the label on the back of her favorite can of soup. No...you can actually see what's out there if you'd like. DV8 Offroad LED Projector Headlights will brighten up the road and trail like never before.
Ok, instead of breaking down some weird list of tech specs that I don't even understand, let me just say that the crew at DV8 have used the state of the art in LED lighting to put together what is the brightest head light that I've seen. It's literally just about double the coverage of a stock headlight. (Feels more like triple to my 2011 factory lights).
Recently I've been asked several times about LED headlights, what to get, who to get them from, etc...etc... Now I won't get into telling what's necessarily bad, but I will say I replaced a set of LED headlights from a different company with the DV8 Offroad LED Projector Headlights and WOW...I couldn't believe the difference. (and the DV8 Offroad lights were cheaper than the other brand). The headlights come with and without the halo, $275 without, $299 with. Upgrading your visibility is an upgrade that offers safety and anytime you can create a safer, better option to what you are already doing...it is 100% worth it!
