JEEP LIFE AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Trying everything I could try to stop the rushing flow of water the factory hardtop would fill my cab with every time a little rain came in. I was desperate!! Then I decided, ok... Forget this top, let's try something new. So I searched and searched to find the perfect lid to gear up with. All my searching lead me to the Trektop NX by Best Top.
For just over 600 bucks this thing not only looks super cool, not only goes on and off super easily, but it stopped the leak!!! I'm not sure if it was the mold of my factory top or what, but I know I am a happy guy now!
The Trektop NX takes probably 30 to 45 mins max to put on for the first time and only requires a couple tools most folks have laying around their houses. The heavy duty zippers are really nice and the flip back front gives a good option to get some sun and air when you are on the road and get strip the whole thing off. You can't beat the price or the look of this top.
If you're looking for an inexpensive, easy to install, great looking top... This is the best !
Southern California is an outdoors playground. Tons of places to surf, ski, hike, bike, wheel, camp, uhhh...see where I'm going here? It's a playground I tell you.
Some of the best places, the great state and city parks. Santiago Oaks Regional Park, for example. Packed full of trails from easy to tough, perfect for a day of hiking, biking, running, or just hanging around and enjoying some time in nature.
Be prepared to shell out a whopping $3 for parking though, but that is a bargain for the restrooms, picnic area, and well kept trails the park has to offer. Santiago Oaks opens up at 7:00 am and shuts down at sunset, so plan accordingly.
Best of all...Krumb is welcomed with open arms!!
So, when you're looking for somewhere to get away for an hour, or a day...check out Santiago Oaks Regional Park! It's a piece of nature right there in the middle of suburbia!
Today was the first of many product tests for me. The product...Line-X, the test...BUSHES!
Yup, that's right, today I spent the morning driving through stuff, trying to scratch my Jeep!
This week I picked up my newly Line-X'd Jeep and had to see if it lived up to the hype. I've always heard how durable and easy to take care of the treatment was, but I guess taking someone else's word for it just didn't seem...appropriate.
Sitting below below Big Bear there are tons of trails that cover the foothills and desert of Southern California. You literally could spend weeks covering the hundreds of square miles without duplicating your path. So finding things to drive through was a piece of cake!
I started on one of my favorites, the Cleghorn Trail, I can always count on some good ol' rocks being thrown up against the sides of the Jeep there. I have to say...it's a bit unnerving trying to get junk to scratch and smack up against the sides of the Jeep, but...a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do, right?
Dropping into Siverwood I had to pull over and see what I messed up. Pleasantly being surprised...not a single scratch! Wow! I love this Line-X, and after that...I'm feeling pretty cocky! Onto the next challenge.
Cutting into the desert! Something about driving fast and not caring what you drive through that's very liberating. Bushes, rocks, and even some Joshua Trees all attacked the Jeep relentlessly and at the end of it all...not a chip, not a scratch. It was perfect. After a quick, easy power wash when I got back, this thing looks brand new again!
Not only do I love the rugged look of the Line-X on my Jeep, but I can't believe how strong and durable it really is! I really pushed it today and came through unscathed. I can't wait for my next test!
I've been a Jeep owner for like 20 years. I've had like 6 wranglers, a Cherokee, and even a Grand Cherokee. You know what they've all had in common?? Floor mats :-)
I've tried several mats, and most do the trick just fine, although the all weather mats seem to warp over time. Well, it's time for mats again and this time, I'm choosing Rugged Ridge.
Here are the tech specs:
Lifetime Warranty – Rugged Ridge Floor Liners are guaranteed to weather the elements and climate. Other manufacturers may only carry a 3, 5 or 10 year warranty.
Thermoplastic Material – Rugged Ridge Floor Liners are made of high pressure injection molded OE-quality Thermoplastic that looks and feels like rubber, but provides a nonslip surface. They will not fade in the sun & our proprietary material is resistant to oil, gas and battery acid.
Nibbed and Floor Hook – Rugged Ridge Floor Liners take advantage of factory floor hooks and have nibs on the back of the liners help keep the liner in place.
Raised Lip and Retaining Edges – Spills ultimately will happen and your feet drag dirt, mud, snow or water into your vehicle. Without a way to contain the spills or corosive material your shoes pick up the mess makes it to the door sill and eventually the carpet. Rugged Ridge Floor Liners have a raised lip retaining edges around their perimeter of your floor board to keep the spills and mess off your vehicle’s carpet. Carpet floor mats offer very little to no protection.
Custom Fit with Good Looks– Rugged Ridge Floor Liners Deep Tread technology with chevron shaped pattern are custom fitted for your vehicle. They are designed to compliment your vehicle and are available in Black, Grey and Tan to match almost any vehicle interior.
Front & Second Seat Liners Consistent Thickness – Rugged Ridge Floor Liners front/rear or first, second, third row are consistent in thickness – this means strong protection for the high-traffic areas of your vehicle.
Applications and Coverage – Rugged Ridge Floor Liners cover most Jeeps and Ford, Chevy, Dodge, GMC Trucks & SUV’s.
Prices will vary $10 to $20 bucks depending on where you purchase the mats. Just search around the Internet and find the best price.
Lastly, check out this cool little video from Rugged Ridge that shows the mats off a bit.
So, the next time you need some new mats...give Rugged Ridge a try, I think you'll love them.
